“I Am Not Going to Leave You”
Scripture Reference:
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” — Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV)
One Word to Carry You Through
Let’s be real—some days are just heavy.
Today was one of those days for me. Work was busy, my mind felt overwhelmed, and my heart just needed a break. I finally got a moment of quiet, closed the door behind me, and knelt down in prayer. I didn’t have any fancy words—just a simple “Thank You, God” as I poured out what I had left.
That’s when I saw the small New Testament Bible someone had given me during a recent church visit. At the time, I wondered why they gave me that—I already have Bibles at home. But now I see it was meant for this very moment.
I opened it without thinking, just flipping pages, and there it was:
“I am not going to leave you.”
And I stopped.
I couldn’t read anymore. I didn’t want to move past it. Because in that exact moment, the Holy Spirit whispered to my heart, “That’s for you. Right now.”
God Is With You—Always
This simple phrase hit me deeper than a thousand words ever could. “I am not going to leave you.” It reminded me that I may get distracted, stressed, or even distant—but God never moves.
We often try to carry everything ourselves—our jobs, our families, our worries. But this word is our anchor. It brings us back. It shifts our focus from the chaos to the calm presence of a loving Father who is always with us.
He’s not going to walk away when life gets messy. He doesn’t leave when we feel lost. He doesn’t back off when we’re tired.
He stays.
Just like a house caretaker tends to every room, God watches over every area of our lives—seen and unseen. He’s caring for you even in the moments you don’t realize it.
Reflection:
Maybe today has been too much. Maybe your mind is tired and your heart is stretched thin.
Don’t try to remember everything. Just remember this:
“I am not gonna leave you.”
Carry that with you today. Let it be the whisper in your mind, the strength in your step, and the calm in your spirit.
Because God is with you—right now, right here.
