Silence

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

The silent season was painful.
Questions filled my mind:
“Why is this happening?”
“What should I do next?”
I could have walked away from God during that time.
I could have allowed disappointment and failure to harden my heart.
But in silence, God began revealing what noise had hidden.
The pressure,
fear,
comparison,
and failure around me became loud.
Yet God taught me that silence helps us hear His voice more clearly.
Sometimes God speaks most deeply when everything else becomes quiet.
