Barnabas lived with humility. As Paul’s ministry began growing stronger, Barnabas slowly stepped into the background. He did not compete for attention or recognition. He remained faithful even when others became more visible than him. This is rare. Many people want influence, but few are willing to decrease so others can grow. Jesus Himself modeled this spirit.
“He made Himself nothing, taking the nature of a servant.”
– Philippians 2:7
True discipleship is not about building personal platforms. It is about helping people become rooted in Christ.
Barnabas understood something important:
the Kingdom grows when people are encouraged, trained, and released into their calling. The Church was never meant to function like a machine where people only attend services and go home unchanged. It was meant to live like a body where every believer grows, serves, and participates together.
Barnabas looked for Paul. The deeper question for us today is: Who are we looking for?
Reflection:
Are you helping others become who God called them to be?
